Winter 2008, with time to spend at home in Seattle, offered the chance to revisit some of the wonderful NW waterways...

The Skagit River has a winter run of chum salmon. When the run is over, hundreds of bald eagles congregate to feed on the beached carcasses. Although by late January most of the eagles have gone, they still motivated our winter river trip.
